Business Milestone
- The Lattitude Group recently completed a Celebration through Service Project to commemorate their fifth year in business. A number of clients participated in the project. A labeling and shelving system to organize donated clothing and goods was built for Family Service of the Piedmont, Inc., to support their work in our community. The group built hanging racks, established categories of clothing and sorted donations into an organized system. Prior to having this system there was no way to locate a specific size or type of item without digging through mounds of donated items, some of which were not even useable.

Lattitude Group Staff Update
- Kathleen Fox has joined The Lattitude Group as Office
Manager.
- Leona LaPerriere, President of the Teen Division, is a regular
guest on the “Our Turn” segment of the local Fox8 morning
news program. She takes questions from callers concerning issues
with their teens.
- Kathy Bowman Atkins has been appointed to the Piedmont Chapter
Board of Directors for the National Conference of Community and
Justice.

Kathy Bowman Atkins, President of The Lattitude Group was guest
speaker at the January meeting of WITHIT, Women
in the Home Industries Today. The meeting was held on January
18 in High Point and the topic was Making Your Design Business
Work for You.

as a 2005 Women in Business Award Winner in the Triad North Carolina
area. She was honored at a celebration on June 24th as a woman
business leader making a difference in the Triad every day. Her
expertise in operations and ability to focus on defining processes
and systems for The Lattitude Group were cited as key to the business
growth of her company.

Merchants Association
Debbie Palat, an Associate of The Lattitude Group, was
guest speaker for the April 21st session of the Greensboro Merchants
Association 2005 Small Business Success Series. The topic of her
session was How to Outperform & Outlast the Competition –
Embracing Change & Thriving. Attendees learned how to exploit
the change in their lives and convert it to maximum growth opportunities
for their businesses.

The Lattitude Group Moderates Strategy Discussion
at Winston–Salem Chamber of Commerce
Kathy Bowman Atkins, President of The Lattitude Group,
was selected by the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce Small Business
Council to moderate a Panel discussion on Strategy. In addition
to Ms. Atkins there were three other experts on the panel who
provided advice, insights and common pitfalls for the attending
business owners regarding Strategic Thinking and Business Planning.

Dan La Perriere Speaks at TJSN
Daniel M. La Perriere, CEO of The Lattitude Group, was guest speaker
at the December 7, 2004, meeting of the Triad Job Search Network
(TJSN). His message to the group was based on his own recent experiences
and what he discovered about himself in the process. He provided
tools to guide the thinking for those in career transitions who
may be considering the option of starting their own business.

Chamber of Commerce and Partners In Profit
announce a new grant for Greensboro United Way Agencies
Partners In Profit, a group of Chamber members in conjunction
with the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, is soliciting grant proposals
from Greensboro Area United Way Agencies. The grant requests will
utilize the services and/or products provided by the businesses
to further their efforts in creating a better Greensboro.
Members of Partners In Profit are: the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce,
Key Resources Inc., Pilot Financial Advisors, First Citizens Bank,
Repeat Information, The Lattitude Group, Beyond Email, Alfred
Williams & Company and the Systel Group.
The grant proposal utilizing the group members’ services
and/or products in the most complete, creative and effective way
will receive the grant. All grant requests must be received by
November 12, 2004 at the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, attention
Allen Purser. Selection of the grant recipient is scheduled to
occur before November 24, 2004 with services/products beginning
in early 2006. Partners In Profit members will work together with
the recipient to arrange delivery of the services and products.

The Lattitude Group Moves to a New Office
The Lattitude Group announces their recent move from
High Point to 355 South Swing Road in Greensboro. "We feel
that our new location is more centrally located and accessible
for our clients," said Daniel LaPerriere, CEO. "It also
gives us larger facilities so we can meet demand for on-site business
coaching and group programs." In a related move, the company
disclosed that Ann Murtland has joined The Lattitude Group staff
as Director, New Business Development. A Winston-Salem native,
Ann will be focusing on the Triad region in her development activities.

Chamber Presents 2004 Ambassador of the
Year
The Greensboro Chamber of Commerce congratulates Leona
La Perriere as the 2004 Ambassador of the Year. Leona’s
dedicated Ambassadorship consisted of over 40 hours of Chamber
service such as leading a team of fellow Ambassadors during the
recent membership campaign, attending numerous Chamber events
and ribbon cuttings and frequent member visits. “Leona is
one of our most hardworking and dedicated volunteers, she’s
truly an inspiration” says David Jameson, President of the
Greensboro Chamber of Commerce. Leona is the President of The
Lattitude Group’s Lattitude for Teens program located at
355 South Swing Rd. The President’s Ambassador Council represents
one of the Greensboro Chamber’s most visible and dedicated
volunteer groups.

The Lattitude Group Starts Division Specializing
in Leadership for Teens
Greensboro-based The Lattitude Group says the program
'Lattitude for Teens,' exposes youngsters to leadership development
training that's similar to the process the firm uses with corporate
clients. The group recently worked with the Greensboro Housing
Authority on a leadership camp, which drew a handful of participants.
"Teens gain valuable skills at a critical time in their development
and we gain future leaders," said Kathy Bowman Atkins, the
group's president.

The Interior Design Society's local chapter has selected Kathy

its October meeting. The program will provide members with actionable

Daniel M. LaPerriere, CEO of The Lattitude Group, was the guest
speaker at the September meeting of GAIN, an organization of business
and professional women. A systematic approach to developing both
business and personal goals drives business women to balance the
demands placed on them. Dan described how goal setting and goal
achievement can be powerful tools for achieving one's full potential
and getting desired results.

Goal Setting and Achievement
The Lattitude Group was selected to lead a workshop on "Goal
Setting and Achievement" during GE Capital's Long Term Care
Carolinas Division Quarterly Development Day, which was held in
Charlotte, NC on September 26. The workshop was attended by 50
people who learned specific ways to improve skills for getting
new business and how to begin to work on their individual organizational
and personal planning processes.

Chamber of Commerce's Piedmont Triad Business Showcase on May
15, 2003. This program provided participants with valuable information
on how to "energize their teams with fail-safe leadership"!
The focus of this session was to help people understand that "energizing
your team" means getting your desired results and how to

The Greensboro Chamber of Commerce
and The Lattitude Group have partnered in the creation of a strategic
business plan for the Chamber's HubPlus initiative. The purpose
of the initiative is to assist the Triad Region in fully leveraging
the opportunities associated with the establishment of the Federal
Express Mid-Atlantic Hub at the Piedmont Triad International Airport.
